When the Tory torso is under threat from a chill (e.g. the economy), the first things to go are the extremities.
Mark my words: the Tories will flipflop and promise to end Canadian military involvement there as a means of giving some ground they can afford to give. It's wrong morally, but this is politics.

guess you missed it . . . parliament already has agreed to 2011.
Nothing to see here . . . move along.
The continental euros are proving once again to be pussies and we shouldn't be dying for them.
Pity about the ordinary Afghanistan people. Hundreds of thousands will now die at the hands of the Taliban and as a result of their sick, demented 12the century madness.
Way off.
No, I didn't miss it. I just think they're going to promise to leave sooner. Parliament says a lot of things that don't mean anything, like "ram-a-lam-a-ding-dong", or "The next election date is fixed to be in 2009" ;)
(In other words, the next Parliament can reverse whatever this Parliament says. The will just has to be there.)
As far as I know the military spending is still not keeping up with inflation. Besides everything else the military has to pay for the increased price of gas, food, heating, etc. too.
I wonder what the question was that got those poll results.
Um Maybe like - Given that we have had 97 soldiers die, do you think Afganistan is a safe place for our soldiers?
It is pretty easy to get the poll result you want - just ask the question in the right way.
That's why we can have the Tories near majority territory one week after they were 2 points behind the Liberals.
I don't believe the poll.
